Susan’s Narnia Costume – Multi-Size PDF Sewing Pattern

Description

Queen Susan’s dress is a statement piece.  It’s gorgeous and feminine.  It’s also practical and ready for Narnia.

The outer dress makes way for movement with it’s split sleeve design and split skirt.  Filling in those split areas, a blue undershirt and secret pants create the unique design of this costume.

This outfit was created by Bella Mae, inspired by Susan Pevensie’s costume in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

• Includes patterns for the outer purple/pink dress, the blue undershirt, and secret pants!
• The dress is separate pieces; a bodice and a skirt.
• The Bodice:
  • Featuring a daffodil on the front panel, the bodice wraps around to the back and has a lacing closure and modesty panel.
  • Adding extra magic to the design, several small tabs are attached to the waistline and the neckline has piping.
  • Allowing for extra movement, the sleeves feature slits, starting at the elbow.  This split is brought together at the forearm and wrist with large thread/yarn loops.
  • Boning is attached inside the bodice to create smooth structure. (For a better fit, it is recommended to wear this costume over a corset, but it is not needed.)
• The Skirt:
  • The front panels are narrower and feature a slit at center front.
  • Creating the gorgeous flow of this skirt, the back panels create nearly a 1/2 circle and have beautiful bias drape.
• The Undershirt & Underpants
  • The undershirt neckline is loosely gathered, peaking out past the outer bodice, framing the neckline shape.
  • The sleeves are full length and are visible past the elbows due to the split sleeve style of the outer bodice.
  • Creating mobility to this dress, the secret pants are functional and flowy!
  • To help hide the pants and keep them secret, a front panel is attached to the underpants waistband.  This falls at center front, positioned at the split of the outer skirt.
